2K has been emailing 3HLO, from Wellington Primary School, England this term. 3HLO is a multicultural class of 16 boys and 13 girls, who live in Bradford, West Yorkshire, England.
Each of us has our own buddy who we email each week. We have been sharing information about our school, friends and family. Also, we share interesting things we do each week and teach each other new things. This week our buddies taught us how to CC friends into an email and we taught them how to attach photos. On display in our classroom, we have our buddies’ photos along with a description for all our visitors to see.
We love hearing from them each week! We hope to one day meet them face to face
In Term 2 some students expressed an interest in entering an art competition for Google Australia. The winner of the competition would have their design published on the Google Homepage for a short period of time.
This was an optional competition and students completed all work in their own time at home or during lunchtimes.
We had nine entries from Stage 3. All entries demonstrated a creative flair and talent to sketch and draw to suit a theme. I am extremely impressed with each and every entry. Each student took great care and time to detail their thoughts in an original artwork. Well Done to all of you!
Unfortunately, we did not have any finalists this year but I imagine the judging criteria was extremely difficult and I am pleased to notice that we did have comparable entries with the selected few. Even though we did not win a place this year I encourage you all to keep working hard and continue to enjoy expressing yourselves creatively.
Please take a moment to have a look at the artworks created by Guildford students and feel free to leave a comment.

I am sure you all had a great time celebrating your learning last week. I wonder what interests you most of all.
I enjoy learning about different languages and cultures. It makes me feel happy when I can practise my skills in this area to speak French and Spanish, in particular. It also helps me to understand where people come from and how different people interact with each other in the many countries across the world. I would like to learn more about different art techniques because I enjoy looking at amazing artworks in galleries. I also enjoy learning dance routines.

2A have been learning about all the different community workers in Guildford that can help them. They have discovered all about the police, firefighters, doctors, nurses, builders and of course the people who work in a school. To be creative, 2A decided to present the information they know about their favourite community worker. They are still a work in progress but 3 students have completed theirs. Please have a look at what they have done.
